Puppy Kindergarten:
$115 for 6 one hour lessons
There are many reasons to consider puppy training for your new family member. Your puppy should attend a class so that he has the opportunities to play and socialize with other puppies. Socialization in puppies is extremely important in maintaining a well balanced dog. Basic commands such as sit, stand, down and come are introduced. Issues such as play biting, housebreaking and chewing can also be addressed.
Positive reinforcement dog training works by using praise and positive actions or rewards, rather than punishment or corrective actions, to teach your dog right from wrong. The key is to determine what motivates your dog, and use that motivator as a reward upon correct performance.
In positive reinforcement dog training you can use treats, toys, physical affection, verbal praise and the love of the game or a combination of any of those, to reward your dog for correct behavior.
Consistency and timing are key to successful positive reinforcement dog training. Be consistent in your training methods - ensure that you use the same cue words each and every time, and that your timing of rewarding correct behavior is as consistent and immediate as possible. Above all, this should be fun for both you and your dog. Training your dog will take time and patience, but eventually your consistency and persistence will pay off.
